Collaborative Innovation

This paper originated as a final project in our Text Analysis course. What began as a classroom exploration was further developed into a full research paper in collaboration with Thanh Hien (Frede) Vo, a PhD student in the International Doctoral Program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IDAS).

Research Highlights

Using a unique hybrid of Thematic Analysis and LDA Topic Modeling (TASAM-LDA), the study identifies four primary areas impacting student success:

  • Academic: Uneven EMI delivery and linguistic hierarchies.
  • Socio-Cultural: Identity negotiation and adaptation tensions.
  • Institutional: A need for stronger formal support beyond peer networks.
  • Well-being: The intersection of financial and health-related stressors.
