In June 2025, Taiwan’s NSTC awarded our lab a project grant to study North Korea’s regional economy! The three-year grant will support our ongoing collection and curation of data on North Korean enterprises. It will also support new analyses comparing centrally and regionally administered enterprises.
Our first project manuscript is on its way out the door with a second in the queue. We look forward to sharing our findings about North Korea’s rapidly changing regional economies, and to collaborate with researchers working on the North Korean political economy!
